Bronze Sunbird
Nectarinia kilimensis
Medium-sized sunbird with a long, thin, well-curved bill. Males have bronze-and-green iridescence, though they look black in most light. There is an odd all-green subspecies in Angola, but it does not overlap in range with Malachite or Scarlet-tufted Sunbirds. The female has a pale eyebrow and pale yellowish underparts with fine streaking. Found in montane habitats including forest, grassland, woodland, and gardens. Vocalizations include a jumble of twittering notes and cleaner whistles. Male similar to male Tacazze Sunbird, but lacks any purple tones to the plumage. Female Bronze Sunbird separated from female Tacazze and Malachite Sunbirds by paler underparts with fine streaks.
识别特征
Bronzy sunbirds have a long, thin, well-curved bill. Males have bronze-and-green undertones but most often look black in light. While the male has the undertones, the female however has a pale eyebrow and an added yellowish park below the belly with fine streaking. On some subspecies specifically located in Angola there is a splash of odd green, but it does not overlap in range with malachite or scarlet-tufted sunbirds in similar areas which do not have this green streaking. Male sunbirds lack any purple tones to the plumage which is found on female species.<p>Bronzy sunbirds use a jumble of twittering notes followed by cleaner whistle sounds. These sounds are most often heard during the early morning and mid day.

分布与栖息地
The bronzy sunbird can be found in Africa. While not very common they can be best found near the edges of the Afromontane forest, mountain sides and Zimbabwe's eastern highlands and adjacent next to Mozambique. Other countries they can be found include Angola, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. They stay far away from populated areas in these countries and have adapted to most remote environments. These environments include Savannas, dried shrub-land, grass, seasonally flooded areas, and rural gardens. They are most abundant in subtropical forests and brush-land.

Scarce Swift
Schoutedenapus myoptilus
Medium-sized, uniformly dark swift with a long, thin tail. Overall coloration is pale gray with a paler throat, but often looks blackish when seen in flight overhead. Flight is fluttering and not very strong. Found over a wide variety of habitats at middle and high elevations. Usually in flocks, sometimes mixed with other swift species. The call is a mellow, chirping trill. Similar to African Palm-Swift, but darker. Very similar in shape to White-rumped Swift, but lacks white throat and rump patches. Can be mistaken for other swift species such as African and Common Swifts, but has slimmer body, longer and slimmer tail, and less powerful flight style.

Greater Ani
Crotophaga major
Anis are bizarre black cuckoos with long floppy tails and unique, very deep and broad-sided bills. Greater is the largest ani, distinctive with its staring yellow eye and glossy blue, green, and purple sheen on the wings and tail. Always associated with water; especially apt to be found low in the forest edge around slow-moving rivers and lakes. Seen in family groups. Widespread in lowlands from Panama to Argentina.

Black Solitaire
Entomodestes coracinus
This striking thrush is unmistakable if seen well: mostly jet black with a white cheek, white tuft under the shoulder, and white outer tail feathers (easily visible from below). Also note red eye and orange lower mandible. Sexes similar. Generally uncommon to rare in limited range in western Colombia and Ecuador, but can be numerous in the right places. Seems to be found most frequently in very humid, mossy cloud forest, but undergoes poorly-known movements perhaps in relation to food availability. Usually seen singly in the middle to upper levels of forest. Listen for the simple song, an even whistled note with a slightly rough tone, given at widely-spaced intervals.
