Icterine Warbler
Hippolais icterina
Medium-sized warbler, light olive-brown above and yellowish below. Distinctive features include longish, daggerlike bill, long primary projection in the wings, and square tail. Told from similar Melodious Warbler by usually conspicuous pale wing panel, longer wings, and marginally shorter bill. Usually difficult to see when singing except during song flights, when long wings are apparent. Found in tall forest with oaks and birch, mixed forest, gardens, and parks. Song is fast, loud, and melodious with lots of mimicry.

分布与栖息地
The icterine warbler is a bird of woodland rather than forest, preferring woodland edge or glades, favouring the crowns of well-spaced trees with tall undergrowth. It prefers broad-leafed trees, but may be found in conifers mixed with broad-leafed trees. It will use copses, orchards, parks, gardens, shelterbelts and tall hedges interspersed with trees. The icterine warbler has the most northerly and widespread distribution of the four Hippolais species; its breeding range extends from northern France and Norway through most of northern and eastern Europe, south as far as the northern Balkans mountains and Crimea mountains eastwards in a narrowing band to the River Ob. It has bred in Scotland recently but it is normally a passage migrant in Great Britain and Ireland. There is a 2022 record of the Icterine warbler from Gambell, Alaska, and it was also documented in the state the following year.<p>It is a migratory species and the entire population winters in sub-Saharan Africa, mainly south of the equator. It begins its southward migration from late July, peaking in early August and then returns to the breeding range in late May.

Rosy-faced Lovebird
Agapornis roseicollis
A small, short-tailed parrot with a soft pink face and dark eyes. Native to southwestern Africa, but feral populations occur in Arizona and in Hawaii; a common pet species, and escapees may occur anywhere. Wild birds are leaf green with brilliant blue rumps, but escaped domestic types may be mostly blue or yellow. Inhabits dry forests and river valleys; present in cities in both natural and introduced range. Call is a shrill, high whistle.

Red-billed Scythebill
Campylorhamphus trochilirostris
Look for the notably long, extremely decurved bill. Otherwise a typical woodcreeper, mostly warm brown with buffy streaks on the head and breast. Easy to identify when the only scythebill in range, but does overlap with other scythebill species. Especially beware of Curve-billed Scythebill, which typically has less streaking on the back (but streaking is variable across range, hence some might be best left unidentified). Red-billed’s red bill is usually obvious enough to distinguish from Brown-billed Scythebill, but can be difficult to judge in certain conditions. Note Red-billed is often found in drier forest than Brown-billed. Hitches up tree trunks much like a woodpecker. Most often seen following mixed-species flocks in the forest, sometimes in adjacent second growth. Typically below 1,000 m, but locally higher.

Great-billed Parrot
Tanygnathus megalorynchos
A large green parrot with a massive red bill and prominent yellow markings on the wings. In flight, shows yellow underwings. Found singly or in pairs or small groups within forest, mangroves, and plantations in lowlands and foothills. Distinguished from Blue-backed and Black-lored Parrots by yellow wing markings. Differs from Blue-naped Parrot in yellow underwings and lack of blue on head, and differs from male Eclectus Parrot in lack of red flank patch. Noisy, with varied calls that include harsh shrieks “KEEK-KEEK-KEEK…”, an ear-splitting, grating “ER,” and a high-pitched, rising whistle “keeYIP.”
