Chaplin's Barbet
Lybius chaplini
A mid-sized white barbet with red around the eyes, and a dark bill, tail and wings, endemic to a restricted portion of south-central Zambia. Immature duskier than adult. Pairs and small family groups are low-density residents in open woodland, where it is dependent on Sycamore Fig trees. The similar Black-backed Barbet differs from Chaplin’s Barbet by having a pale bill, dark back, and red and black on the crown; other pale-headed barbets lack red on the face. Call is an extended dry cackle reminiscent of a group of Green Woodhoopoes.

Chaplin's barbet is a small bird species, measuring up to 19 cm (7.5 in) in length with a weight of 64–75 g (2.3–2.6 oz). It is a plump-looking barbet with a large head and a heavy bill with bristles. Its plumage is white with red around the eyes. Its tail is black and the wings are black with yellow on the edges. These birds are usually found in open woodland areas where figs are abundant, which is where this species prefers to gather food and nest.

Ambon White-eye
Zosterops kuehni
A small songbird with a conspicuous white eye-ring, a green face and upperparts, a bright yellow throat, a white belly, and a yellow base to the undertail. Pairs and small groups occur in the lowlands in forest, edge, sparsely wooded areas, and gardens. Restricted to Ambon, except for a few records from Seram. Separated from Warbling and Lemon-bellied White-eyes by its white belly, and from Seram White-eye by its green face and forecrown. Song comprises a rapid, pleasant warble. Also gives penetrating “tzew” notes.
Stripe-chested Antwren
Myrmotherula longicauda
Small, streaky antbird of humid forest along the east slope of the Andes; also found in lowlands away from the mountains in a few areas. Male is boldly striped with black and white. Female is black and tan with a similar stripy pattern but has plainer underparts. Inhabits dense vegetation at forest edge or overgrown clearings. Song is an excited series of doubled notes: “hiccup, hiccup, hiccup…”
Rio Madeira Stipplethroat
Epinecrophylla amazonica
Small, brown antwren with a red back patch. Males have a black-speckled throat; females have tan throat and underparts. Part of the species complex previously known as “Stipple-throated Antwren.” Forages singly or in pairs in the understory of mature rainforest, often in mixed-species flocks with other antwrens and antshrikes. Song is a rising-falling series of high pitched notes.
