Purple-bellied Lory
Lorius hypoinochrous
A thick-set, short-tailed parrot with green wings, a red body, a black cap, and a deep purple belly. Widespread in natural habitats, but apparently favors coconut plantations. Purple belly separates this species from the very similar White-naped Lory, especially in flight. The similar Black-capped Lory has a large black neck patch and darker purplish black underside. Purple-bellied’s most common call is a harsh nasal “eee-arrr,” unlike the sweet whistle of White-naped Lory.
识别特征
The purple-bellied lory is 26 cm (10 in) long. It is mostly red with black on top of head, green wings, and purple underparts. Its thighs are purple and its legs are dark grey. Its tail is red with dark green-blue at the tip. Its cere is white. The eyerings are grey and the irises are orange-red. The three subspecies differ with slightly different plumage colours.

Zebra Finch
Taeniopygia guttata
Small finch with bright orange bill and a distinctive black-and-white “moustache” mark. Adult male gray above, with barred grayish bib, rusty white-spotted flanks, and black-and-white tail pattern. Female smooth gray to buff on the chest and belly; juvenile similar but with a dark gray bill. Inhabits arid inland Australia, where often found in very large flocks.
Azure-breasted Pitta
Pitta steerii
A medium-sized, long-legged bird of lowland and foothill forest floor and undergrowth in the southern Philippines. Green on the back, with a black head and back of the neck, a pale blue wing with a black edge, pale blue underparts with a black patch on the belly, and red under the base of the tail. Similar to Hooded Pitta, especially if viewed from the back, but has a pale blue chest and a white throat. Song is a short series of medium-pitched barks, “rak-rak-rak-rak-rak!”
Blue-and-white Mockingbird
Melanotis hypoleucus
Skulking and heard far more often than seen, this fairly large and ample-tailed songbird replaces Blue Mockingbird in highlands and foothills south of Isthmus of Tehuantepec. Favors thickets, dense scrubby woodlands, and forest understory. Behavior similar to Blue Mockingbird: skulking and difficult to see clearly. Plumage striking: denim-blue above with a black mask, white below. Varied songs and calls similar to Blue Mockingbird.
