Seychelles Fody
Foudia sechellarum
An unusual drab, long-billed fody. Breeding males have yellow patches on the face. Females and non-breeding males are very drab and sparrow-like. An uncommon Seychelles endemic that is now restricted to a few islands. Found in woodland, scrub, and plantations, often in small groups. Females and non-breeding males similar to Red Fody, but Seychelles Fody is darker and has a longer, slimmer, slightly curved bill. Calls include high, silvery notes and lower-pitched “vet” notes. Both are sometimes given in a series.
识别特征
The male Seychelles fody has a yellow face in breeding plumage which the female lacks. The plumage is in general a drab olive and the beak is black. This bird grows to a length of about 12.5 cm (5 in). The female and juvenile resembles the female and juvenile red fody (Foudia madagascariensis), but can be distinguished by having upper parts with less streaking.

行为
The Seychelles fody feeds mainly on insects and other small arthropods, as well as eating fruit, nectar and seeds. It has been known to feed on the eggs of seabirds such as the White tern. The diet includes bugs, beetles, ants and spiders. On Cousin, this bird has a clearly defined breeding season, between May and September, after which period it moults. On some other islands it seems to breed throughout the year. It shares the same habitat in the Seychelles with a related introduced species, the red fody.

White-browed Warbler
Myiothlypis leucoblephara
Gray-and-green warbler found in the understorey of dense forests often near water where it forages restlessly. Note the broken white eyering and short white eyebrow contrasting with its gray head and dark crown stripe. It has an olive-green back, gray flanks, and a white belly. Resembles White-striped Warbler, but lacks the long white eyebrow and white face. The song is a melodious series of descending notes.

Chiloe Wigeon
Mareca sibilatrix
Handsome and distinctive duck. Sexes look similar, but male averages brighter. Note the striking face pattern (duller on young and on adults in late summer), bright rusty sides, and bold white forewing patches that show in flight. Often common in wetlands, marshes, at lakes, and along river mouths. Associates readily with other waterfowl, but more often seen on shore, grazing in grassy areas.

Foothill Stipplethroat
Epinecrophylla spodionota
Small antwren of dense foothill forests. Male is grayish with the black speckled throat that gives this group of antwrens their name. Note also the bold whitish wingbars, and brown flanks, rump, and tail. Females are entirely tan with bold wingbars. Forages in the understory of mature forest, often in mixed-species flocks. Song is a rising-falling series of high pitched notes.
