Beijing Babbler
Rhopophilus pekinensis
Long-tailed brown bird with a white throat, streaked back, and rusty belly. Inhabits dry vegetation, ranging from scrub to tall grasses to reedbeds. Within its range, size and patterning distinguish it from other long-tailed brown birds, such as prinias. Forages on the ground and low in vegetation, often in small flocks. Wide repertoire; gives long whistles, squeaks, and repetitive bubbly calls.

The Beijing babbler (Rhopophilus pekinensis), also known as the white-browed Chinese warbler, Chinese hill warbler, or Chinese bush-dweller, is a species of bird in the genus Rhopophilus. It is now thought to be a close relative of the parrotbills and is placed in the family Paradoxornithidae; previously, it was placed in the families Cisticolidae, Timaliidae or Sylviidae. It is found in northern China and North Korea, and formerly occurred in South Korea. The species was first described by Robert Swinhoe in 1868.

Planalto Tyrannulet
Phyllomyias fasciatus
Tiny flycatcher with a shortish dark bill, dark legs, and a long slender tail. It has an olive-gray back, a pale face, a gray cap, and is pale yellow below. Note the white eyerings and two pale wingbars. Subspecies vary in plumage intensity. Found in the canopy of humid forests and woodlands where it often joins mixed-species flocks. The song is a quiet series of three notes “pew-pew-puuit.”
Green-and-white Hummingbird
Elliotomyia viridicauda
Medium-sized hummingbird of middle elevations. Green above, white below, with a variably pinkish lower mandible. Found in humid forest and around forest edges. Distinguished with care from the very similar White-bellied Hummingbird by its completely dark underside of the tail (where there is some white in White-bellied), and by its sometimes darker lower mandible. Green-and-white Hummingbird is also typically more closely associated with forested habitats than White-bellied.
Abyssinian White-eye
Zosterops abyssinicus
A small, sharp-billed warbler-like bird. Note the yellow throat, gray underparts, and narrow white spectacles around the eyes. Found in woodland, montane forest edge, mangroves, gardens, and scrub. Usually in hyperactive flocks, often joining mixed-species flocks. Similar to Heuglin’s White-eye, and some individuals are difficult to separate, but generally shows a narrower eye-ring. Most common call is a high-pitched rising rattle. Song is a quiet, chatty sequence of “chew” notes.
