White-crested Tiger-Heron
Tigriornis leucolopha
A shy, stout heron that forages alone near water in dense lowland forest and mangroves. The tail is often hidden by the wings, giving these birds a very front-heavy appearance. The distinctive white crest is often hidden by the barred black-and-brown plumage covering most of the body. Call is a deep, far-carrying boom, as is typical of most large bitterns.

Leyte Plumed-Warbler
Micromacronus leytensis
A tiny and very little-known bird of foothill forest on Samar and Leyte islands. Yellow below, with a broad yellow eyebrow and olive upperparts. Note the reddish eye and the long white plumes sprouting from the sides, lower back, and rump. Somewhat similar to the female Olive-backed Sunbird, but lacks the long bill and has white plumes. Voice thought to be similar to that of Mindanao Plumed-Warbler, which gives a sibilant chatter.

Chestnut-quilled Rock-Pigeon
Petrophassa rufipennis
A large dark-brown pigeon with faint pale speckles on its plumage. In flight, shows chestnut wing panels, and flies with a loud clattering of wings. Found only on the sandstone area of Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, where it can be encountered at locations throughout Kakadu National Park and beyond. Often roosts on high rocky cliffs or on top of sandstone towers; comes down to the sandy ground in the early morning and evening.

Timor Blue Flycatcher
Eumyias hyacinthinus
A distinctive chunky, upright flycatcher. Male is blue-and-orange with an entirely blue head, throat, and upperparts and a contrasting orange underside from the chest down. Female is also distinctive, with a blue tail, brown upperparts, and an entirely pale orange underside, including the throat. Inconspicuous; single birds inhabit the understory of forest, wooded areas, and patches of trees in the lowlands and foothills. Confined to the eastern Lesser Sundas. Song is a short, rapid series of jumbled rising and falling notes of medium pitch.
