Seram Golden-Bulbul
Hypsipetes affinis
A large songbird with a notably long, heavy bill. Uniform olive-green above except for diagnostic striking yellow final third of tail. Head olive with a thin yellow line between the bill and the eye. Underparts uniform yellow. Small groups inhabit forests, edges, and plantations, occurring from sea level to the foothills. Confined to the islands of Seram and Ambon. No other species in range shows a bold bicolored tail. Song consists of strident high-pitched whistles, descending on the final notes: “WEE-WEE-WEE-WEE-WOO-WOO.” Also gives soft chattering calls and raspy notes.

The Seram golden bulbul was originally classified in the genus Criniger, and has also been classified in the genera Hypsipetes, Ixos, and Alophoixus. Alternate names for the Seram golden bulbul include the golden bulbul and Moluccan bulbul.<p>Two subspecies are currently recognized:

Golden Greenbul
Calyptocichla serinus
A golden-green bird of forest and forest edge, often seen high above the ground in fruiting trees with other species. Mostly uniform golden-yellow below and yellow-green above with a distinctive pale pinkish bill that is often darkest towards the tip. Gives a drawn out, descending “TSCHEEeeeeew!”, often preceded by a sharp “chup!”
Eastern Spot-billed Duck
Anas zonorhyncha
Common large duck of lakes, ponds, wet fields, and estuaries. Dark brown overall, with a pale head marked by a whitish eyebrow and two black stripes on the face. Namesake yellow bill spot is visible even from a good distance. White underwings contrast strongly with dark body in flight. Highly adaptable and quite tame, foraging in city parks and small ponds close to human settlements.
Delicate Prinia
Prinia lepida
Tiny, disproportionately long-tailed, active, and vocal. The upperparts are gray-brown with heavy dark streaking, the underparts are pale, and each tail feather shows both pale and dark tips. Generally found in rather moist habitats within arid zones, including field margins, riparian woodland, scrub, gardens, and wetlands; can be quite numerous. Very vocal, especially in spring. The song is a rattling series of dry chirps, subtly different from the slower-paced song of Graceful Prinia. Males often sing from obvious perches. Visually extremely similar to Graceful Prinia, but there is little overlap in range. In any areas of overlap, best separated by song, but Delicate is also slightly longer- and narrower-tailed and browner.
