Sunda Brush Cuckoo
Cacomantis sepulcralis
A medium-sized cuckoo, with a warm buff colored throat, chest, and belly. Gray eyering and heavily barred tail. Some females are quite different, a rich reddish brown with heavy black barring. Similar Plaintive Cuckoo is generally paler, with a contrasting gray hood. Most frequently encountered by its incessantly given song, an even series of high-pitched clear whistles that are slightly upslurred.

Dusky-tailed Antbird
Drymophila malura
Medium-sized antbird with a long olive-brown tail. Found in the dense understory of humid forest, woodlands, and forest edges. Males have an olive-brown back, tail, and vent and a heavily streaked head and breast. Females are rufous above with a lightly streaked head and breast.

White-tailed Blue Flycatcher
Elminia albicauda
Slim, slightly crested flycatcher with a long tail that is often fanned. The back is blue, the underparts pale gray, and the outer tail white. Found in rainforest, gallery forest, lush gardens, and thick miombo. Often joins mixed-species feeding flocks. The song is a long, complex mix of warbling and chatty notes. Similar to African Blue Flycatcher, but has virtually no overlap in range, and easily separated by its white outer tail.

White Wagtail
Motacilla alba
Distinctive but variable: all plumages are some bold combination of black, white, and gray. Shows considerable variation in plumage across the world, but never has a clear, thin and contrasting eye-brow like White-browed or Japanese Wagtail. Occurs in varied open habitats, from wild grassy areas and wetlands to paved car parks and grassy lawns. Usually seen as singles, pairs, or small groups walking and running around, pumping the long, white-sided tail up and down. Identified easily in flight by its loud, thick and distinctive “tsee-tsee’ call.
