Tessmann's Flycatcher
Fraseria tessmanni
A plain, strong-billed rainforest flycatcher that is dark gray and black on the upperparts and pale below. Sometimes shows a vague darker gray band across the breast. Scarce and local in rainforest clearings, secondary forest, overgrown plantations, and forest edge, mostly at the middle levels. Most similar to Dusky-blue Flycatcher, but has much paler underparts. Also similar to Cassin’s Flycatcher, but has paler underparts, and not strongly associated with water. Similar in coloration to Little Gray Flycatcher, but much larger and paler below. The song is pretty and thrush-like: a mixture of whistles and trills given at a conversational rhythm.

Tessmann's flycatcher was formally described in 1907 by the German ornithologist Anton Reichenow under given the binomial name Psalidoprocne tessmanni. The specific epithet was chosen to honour the German anthropologist and collector Günter Tessmann (1889–1971). Tessmann's flycatcher is now one of eight species placed in the genus Fraseria that was introduced in 1854 by the French naturalist Charles Lucien Bonaparte. The species is monotypic: no subspecies are recognised.

Bar-winged Wren-Babbler
Spelaeornis troglodytoides
Beautifully patterned ground-dweller of mountainous temperate forests with thick undergrowth. Tangerine-colored with a pale throat, black-and-white barred wings and tail, and star-like pale spots all over a darker head and back. Forages in the leaf litter and on the bases of tree trunks, sometimes in pairs and small flocks. Spotted patterning bears a passing resemblance to that of Spotted Elachura, which is dark brown overall with a far shorter tail. Song is a rolling series of high-pitched, slightly hoarse notes.
Blue-winged Macaw
Primolius maracana
Fairly small macaw with a bare white face that contrasts with its dark bill. It has a small red forehead, which can be quite difficult to see, a blue crown, and a red belly. The flight feathers are striking blue. Usually seen in pairs or small groups at forest edges, palm groves, and open woodlands. The flight call is a mellow “graaaa.”
Andaman Cuckoo-Dove
Macropygia rufipennis
A slim, long-tailed dove with small head and legs. Rust-colored throughout with faint barring around the neck and breast. Common but inconspicuous in forests and along forest edges, where birds feed on fruits and berries. Known to feed on the ground, but usually sticks closer to the canopy. The call is a thin, low, double-noted “whoo-whup.”
