Orange-banded Flycatcher
Nephelomyias lintoni
A small flycatcher restricted to high-elevation Andean cloud forest in southeastern Ecuador and adjacent areas of northern Peru. Darker than other small flycatchers in range and rather distinctive; orange-tinged underparts, buffy wingbars, and mostly orange bill are helpful identification features. Eye is pale in some birds and dark in others. Usually seen high in the trees, where it often gives a soft “tink” call over and over.

Green-winged Teal
Anas crecca
Tiny duck with a petite, thin bill. Males have a brown head with a wide green swatch behind the eye, creamy speckled breast, and mostly gray body. Females are brown, darker overall than other dabbling ducks. Forages by dabbling and tipping-up to reach submerged aquatic vegetation. Also regularly walks around mudflats to feed.
White-eyed Gull

A unique medium-sized, lightly-built gull, confined to the Red Sea. Upperparts dark brown or gray. The bill is long, slender, and slightly downcurved. Adults have black hood with a prominent white eyering. Young birds are browner with a paler head. Compared to the similar-looking Sooty Gull it is smaller and more delicate with a thinner all-dark bill, and lacks the two-toned bill pattern. Breeds on remote islands and coral reefs; mainly coastal.
Himalayan Owl
Strix nivicolum
A medium-sized brownish owl of montane forests, generally uncommon. Brownish overall with finely patterned underparts. Deep black eyes bracketed by bright white arcs impart a learned, severe expression. Asian counterpart to Europe's Tawny Owl. Calls loudly and slowly, a repeated pair of hoots.
