Kalinago Wren
Troglodytes martinicensis
Small brownish wren now found only on Dominica; formerly also occurred on Guadeloupe and Martinique. Plumage cinnamon-brown overall, with dark barring on the wings and tail. Lacks white eyebrow. Generally more arboreal than mainland “House Wrens”, occurring in dense brushy woodland throughout the island. Often perches conspicuously when singing, but otherwise fairly secretive. Listen for loud song of chatters and clearer trills, as well as harsh scolding calls.
识别特征
The Kalinago wren (Troglodytes martinicensis) is a very small passerine bird in the wren family Troglodytidae that is found on the Caribbean island of Dominica. It was formerly also found on the islands of Martinique and Guadeloupe. The name troglodytes means "hole dweller", and is a reference to the bird's tendency to disappear into crevices when hunting insects or to seek shelter. It was formerly considered to be conspecific with the house wren, now renamed the northern house wren (Troglodytes aedon).

Yellow-breasted Tailorbird
Orthotomus samarensis
A small, long-billed, long-tailed bird of dense undergrowth in lowland forest on Bohol, Leyte, and Samar islands. Olive-green on the back and wings, with an orange-brown tail often held cocked, yellow underparts, a thin yellow line around the back of the neck, and a black cap. Female has a white throat with some streaking around the edge, while the male has a black bib and a small white chin. Similar in size and shape to Rufous-fronted Tailorbird, but has yellow underparts and a black head. Voice includes monotonous piping notes given in series.

Sooty Tit
Aegithalos fuliginosus
Active little bird with a chocolate-brown chest and a bright white collar. Forages in the lower and middle levels of foothill and montane forest in flocks, often with other species. Overall brownish coloration distinguishes it from similar small tits and bushtits. Like other bushtits, can often be inquisitive and confiding. Gives a trio of high, thin whistles, as well as occasional chatters and trills.

Spotted Wood-Quail
Odontophorus guttatus
Elusive dark quail found in the interior of humid tropical forest in lowlands and foothills. Forages stealthily in forest interior, usually in pairs or small groups, and usually runs rather than flies when disturbed. Sexes look alike, with erect crest, blackish throat, and white polka dots on breast. Sometimes in same areas as the much smaller Singing Quail, which is much more easily seen.
