Yellow-browed Antbird
Hypocnemis hypoxantha
Rather small antbird with a disjunct distribution. Males have a yellow face and underparts with a black crown, eye-line, and streaks on the breast. Females have a yellow streaked crown. Southeastern subspecies has ochraceous lower underparts. Song is a descending and decelerating series of fluted notes becoming harsher at the end. Found in the understory of humid forests, often in areas of transitional forest or poor soils. Rarely accompanies mixed-species flocks. The similar Spix's and Peruvian Warbling-Antbirds have white breasts, and the song of Peruvian is somewhat slower-paced.

Yellow-winged Vireo
Vireo carmioli
Small yellowish bird; note bold wingbars and face pattern with short pale eyebrow and arc under the eye. Yellow underparts sometimes bright, sometimes paler whitish, but always some yellow tones. Could be mistaken for a tyrannulet but note thicker bill and more horizontal posture. Usually seen singly or in pairs, following a mixed-species flock through forest, edge, and second growth. Found at relatively high elevations in its limited range. Song is a slow series of short phrases, like a squeaky Yellow-throated Vireo.
Trindade Petrel
Pterodroma arminjoniana
A medium-sized gadfly petrel with long, pointed wings, long tail, and elastic, powerful flight. Bill is short and thick. Upperparts all dark. Has two color morphs—dark and pale. In pale morph, head and breast dark, contrasting with white belly, creating a hooded appearance. Undertail coverts dark. Dark morph is all dark on belly. In both morphs underwing has pale mid-wing panel across the entire wing.
Polynesian Storm-Petrel
Nesofregetta fuliginosa
A very large storm-petrel with large broad wings and a long forked tail. White rump and throat patch are often strikingly obvious, even with brief views. Pelagic, but occurs in groups near colonies. Combination of stark black-and-white plumage, relatively large size, white throat patch, and long gliding flight with periodic surface bounces is diagnostic. Silent at sea.
