Asian Tit

Small finchlike bird, compact and short tailed with a stout bill. Male has notably orange-tinged underparts and dark upperparts with a purplish sheen. The orange-yellow crown is extensive (not restricted to the forehead like many other euphonias). Also note the underside of the tail, which is entirely dark. Females are plain yellowish-olive overall and difficult to separate from other euphonias, especially Thick-billed, but usually seen in pairs or small groups with males. Frequents woodlands, edges, and clearings in lowlands and foothills, often in fairly dry regions. Can be found in mixed-feeding flocks with other species such as warblers and tanagers.

Notably variably but generally dark thrush with orange bill, eyering, legs, and feet. Found on almost all islands in Fiji, but abundance varies significantly between islands. On some islands only found at the highest elevations, while on others occurs more widely. Forages at all levels of forest, including on the forest floor. Calls include harsh chupping calls, often given in bursts.

Large olive-brown bulbul with a long, powerful, chisel-like bill. Pale gray below, with white streaking on the throat and breast. Similarly-shaped Buff-vented Bulbul is browner, with a yellow vent and no streaking on the breast. Inhabits lowland and foothill forests, where it forages up in the middle and upper levels, often with other species. Song is an assemblage of squeaky, upslurred notes.
