Thicket Tinamou
Crypturellus cinnamomeus
A furtive, ‘tail-less’ gamebird that lives on the ground in tropical woodland and forest. Rarely seen (sometimes crosses quiet roads or trails), but haunting whistled song is often heard, especially early and late in the day. Note distinct pale barring on upperparts and bright reddish legs. Birds in West Mexico are paler and grayer overall, those in East Mexico and Central America have a rusty-colored breast and belly.
分类信息
All tinamou are from the family Tinamidae, and in the larger scheme are also ratites. Unlike other ratites, tinamous can fly, although in general, they are not strong fliers. All ratites evolved from prehistoric flying birds, and tinamous are the closest living relative of these birds.
René-Primevère Lesson identified the thicket tinamou from a specimen from La Unión, El Salvador., in 1842.
The thicket tinamou has many subspecies as follows:

行为
The species has a monotonous voice ‘whoo-oo’, sounding like a steam engine. The thicket tinamou can be found in pairs, families or as a solitary bird and, like most tinamous, it prefers to walk than fly.
Like most tinamous, it will eat fruit, seeds and invertebrates.
Like most tinamous, it will place its nest on the ground alongside raised roots. It will contain around three eggs, but as many as seven, that are glossy and purple in color. This species and the slaty-breasted tinamou will produce hybrids.
保护状况
The IUCN lists this bird as Least Concern, with an occurrence range of 600,000 km2 (230,000 sq mi).

West African Wattle-eye
Dyaphorophyia hormophora
Chunky and short-tailed rainforest wattle-eye. Males are black-and-white, with a white collar all the way around the neck and a very broad black breast band. Females are mostly chestnut, with a white belly and mostly gray head. Both sexes have bluish-purple bare skin around the eyes. Found in the understory and middle levels of rainforest and gallery forest, at middle and low elevations. The vocalizations are highly variable but consist of repeated notes, which can be clear toots or frog-like sounds.

Hispaniolan Parakeet
Psittacara chloropterus
A sleek, medium-large, gregarious species of woodlands that sometimes ventures into agricultural and urban areas. Its overall green plumage, long, pointed tail, and stout bill eliminate all other species in range. In overflight, it often appears green with a red slash on each forewing. Most common call is a series of squeaks that takes on a twittering quality when given by an excited flock.

Waigeo Brushturkey
Aepypodius bruijnii
A very little-known, large, black ground bird endemic to the upland forests on Waigeo Island. Black above with some chestnut in the breast and a bare pink head and throat. The male has rather distasteful flaps of bare red skin on the head and a wattle hanging down from the base of the throat. The male often twitches his head. The only other member of the family on Waigeo is the Dusky Scrubfowl, but Waigeo Brushturkey is larger with a pinkish head.
