Gray-sided Thrush
Turdus feae
A dull brown thrush with a gray belly and white eyebrows. Head pattern similar to that of Eyebrowed Thrush, but Gray-sided has no orange tones anywhere on the body. Breeds in mid- to high-altitude deciduous forests; many actually move higher in the winter, into evergreen forests, unlike most other high-altitude breeders. Forages quietly on the ground, usually solitarily. Song not as rich and melodious as other thrushes; instead gives a prolonged series of distinct short phrases consisting of bouncy, “fuzzy”-sounding notes.
识别特征
The grey-sided thrush is a medium-sized, warm-brown thrush with a white supercilium and crescent below the eye. The male has rufescent-olive upperparts, including the crown and ear-coverts, and grey underparts becoming paler on the belly and vent. The female has a white throat and whiter centre to the breast and belly, some dark spots or streaks on the sides of the throat and upper breast and warm brownish fringes to the breast feathers.

分布与栖息地
The species is migratory, breeding in the mountains of north-east China and migrating to subtropical or tropical moist montane forest in India, and Indochina. Lately it has also been found in parts of Daman, Makwanpur; Nepal and as a vagrant in north-eastern Bangladesh.

Cyanocorax cristatellus
Large jay found in savannas, semiopen areas, plantations, and occasionally gardens where it is usually encountered in small noisy groups. Note prominent black crest that curls backwards and a black throat, breast, and back. The wings and uppertail are blue while the lower half of the tail is white.
Rufous-necked Snowfinch
Pyrgilauda ruficollis
Quite brightly-colored for a snowfinch. Pale sandy brown above and white below with an orange crescent on the back of the cheek. May be confused with Blanford’s Snowfinch, but look out for a pair of roughly equal-length black stripes on the face which form a right angle. Found on wide open steppe meadows, pastures, and near human settlements.
White-winged Duck
Asarcornis scutulata
Odd shy duck with a distinctly ‘farmyard’ appearance. Distinctive white head can be quite clean-looking or densely speckled with black, depending on age and sex. When at rest or foraging, predominantly dark with white patches in the wings and on the head. Extensive white wing patches most noticeable when the bird is in flight. Inhabits quiet, secluded forest waterways. Retreats into undisturbed recesses of these waterways outside of dawn and dusk.
