Moluccan Myzomela
Myzomela simplex
Small, entirely dark sooty-brown honeyeater. Very plain and lacking any colorful distinctive features. Found on the Indonesian island of Halmahera, as well as smaller adjacent islands. Uses forest and forest edge, in the lowlands and at moderate elevations. Similar to female Black Sunbird, but shows a more strongly downcurved bill, less contrast between the upperparts and underparts, and never shows the yellow tones on the belly usually shown by Black Sunbird.
识别特征
The Moluccan myzomela (Myzomela simplex) is a species of bird in the family Meliphagidae. It is endemic to Indonesia, where it is found on the Maluku Islands. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. It was formerly considered a subspecies of the dusky myzomela (Myzomela obscura), but phylogenetic evidence indicates that both are distinct species, and it has thus been split by the IUCN Red List, BirdLife International, and the International Ornithologists' Union. There are two recognized subspecies: M. s. mortyana - endemic to Morotai M. s. simplex - found on Halmahera, Ternate, Tidore, Damar, and the Bacan Islands

Dusky-faced Tanager
Mitrospingus cassinii
Subtly attractive tanager, fairly large with striking pale eye. Slaty gray back with olive-yellow crown and belly, dark blackish face. Usually seen in small flocks moving quickly through the understory of forests and edges, seldom sitting still for long. Sometimes joins mixed flocks. Conspicuous call is an explosive chipping, often given repeatedly.

Mouse-colored Penduline-Tit
Anthoscopus musculus
A tiny drab bird with a sharp bill. Note gray back, whitish underparts, and faintly black-speckled forehead. Generally uncommon in dry savanna and thornscrub, usually found in pairs or small flocks. Similar to Sennar and African Penduline-Tits, but grayer on the back and paler below. Can also be mistaken for Yellow-bellied or Yellow-vented Eremomelas, but has a shorter and thinner bill and no yellow on the underparts. Vocalizations include high-pitched “sit” notes and long trills.

Savanna Hawk
Buteogallus meridionalis
Beautiful orangish raptor with a widespread distribution across Central and South America. Overall cinnamon-colored with dark barring on the underparts. Upperparts are darker brown except for contrasting cinnamon shoulders. In flight, note white tail band and mostly cinnamon flight feathers. Immatures can be mostly whitish on the head and belly, often with heavy dark markings. Note shape (short-tailed and long-legged) and habitat. Singles or pairs are found in open habitats, often perched conspicuously on a fence post or treetop.
