Fülleborn's Boubou
Laniarius fuelleborni
Mid-sized bushshrike that is completely black. Found in the undergrowth of humid forest at middle and high elevations. A skilled skulker that is most often detected by voice. Gives a wide variety of vocalizations, which include whistles, explosive notes, frog-like calls, and ratchets. The most common vocalization is a quick series of three whistles: “whit-whit-wee.” Very similar to Slate-colored Boubou, but found in montane forest rather than lower-elevation savanna and woodland.

Fülleborn's boubou is a medium-sized boubou, growing to a length of 18 to 20 cm (7 to 8 in). The sexes are similar and the adult plumage is a bluish slate-grey with a blacker head, wings and tail, all of which are slightly glossed. The underparts are dark slatey-grey and the underwing is dark brown. The eye is brown or reddish-brown and the beak and legs are black. The upper parts of the juvenile are a brownish-black colour, faintly spotted with buff, and lacking gloss. The underparts are barred with buffy greyish-black. The adult plumage is gained at six or seven weeks. This boubou only takes to the wing occasionally and has a ponderous flight.
分类信息
This bird has often been considered to be conspecific with the mountain sooty boubou (Laniarius poensis) complex (including the albertine sooty boubou (Laniarius holomelos) and Willard's sooty boubou (Laniarius willardi)), but Fülleborn's boubou possesses a different juvenile plumage of that complex, as well as differing morphologically and with respect to vocalizations. Recent genetic studies also indicate the two species are closely related but do not form a superspecies. Fülleborn's boubou is also similar to the slate-colored boubou (Laniarius funebris), but they occupy different ecological niches.

Yellow-bellied Chat-Tyrant
Silvicultrix diadema
Small flycatcher found in subtropical and temperate zones of the Andes from Venezuela to Peru. Like most chat-tyrants, has a very bold eyebrow. Yellow-bellied is the only chat-tyrant that looks mostly yellow and is especially bright on the belly and throat. Note rufous wingbars. Singles or pairs are typically found in the understory of cloud forest and edges, especially near bamboo, but can be inconspicuous.
Black-crested Bulbul

Greenish-yellow bulbul with a dark head and crest. Pale eyes give it a perpetually angry or surprised appearance. Found in forests from lowlands up into foothills and submontane areas; generally favors more open forests instead of dense cover. Often in pairs or small groups, seldom in large flocks. Song brief, fluid, and melodic, the highest note usually at or near the end.
Band-tailed Antshrike
Thamnophilus melanothorax
A rarely encountered large antshrike. Both sexes are distinctive; male is mostly black with a broad white tail band, whereas female is mostly rusty-colored with a black face and throat. Pairs inhabit disturbed areas in forested regions and are especially fond of dense vine tangles. May ascend into midstory but usually remains in undergrowth where they are difficult to see. Song is a slow series of hollow notes, much slower than other antshrikes in range; also harsh churring in alarm. Range incompletely known.
