Small, dark brown bulbul with dirty-looking olive-yellow underparts. Combination of dark eyes and fairly uniform coloration distinguish this species from other, dull brown bulbuls. Inhabits lowland and hill forests, often clambering in dense tangled vegetation at mid to lower levels. Social, but shy and skulking. Gives an ascending two-part call: “chee-ik”.

分类信息
Formerly, the olive bulbul was classified in the genera Microscelis and Hypsipetes by some authorities. The synonym Hypsipetes virescens has also been used for the Nicobar bulbul and the Sunda bulbul. Alternative names for the olive bulbul include Blyth's olive bulbul, Sumatran bulbul, and viridescent bulbul. The name 'olive bulbul' is also used as an alternative name by the yellow-bearded greenbul and the sulphur-bellied bulbul.<p>Three subspecies are currently recognized. The Cachar bulbul was also considered as a subspecies of the olive bulbul until it was split off and re-classified as a separate species by the IOC in 2017:

Hispaniolan Oriole
Icterus dominicensis
A sleek forest bird that sometimes ventures into gardens and parks in search of flowers and fruit; prefers areas with palms. The adult is distinctive—clothed in black except for patches of yellow on lower belly, shoulders, and rump. No similar species occur within its range. Immatures are muddled yellow, orange, and olive, developing adult plumage over the course of a year. This plumage resembles that of female and young Baltimore Orioles, a scarce migrant and winter visitor to Hispaniola. Similarly attired Baltimore Orioles can be distinguished by their orange underparts and white wingbars. The song is a rapid jumble of squeaky and metallic notes. Calls include a buzzy “jrrrt” and a metallic “zhwee.”
Jamaican Owl
Asio grammicus
A somewhat large nocturnal inhabitant of wooded areas including gardens and parks; roosts in tree cavities or dense foliage during the day. The Barn Owl is of similar size, but it is much paler and lacks the Jamaican Owl’s prominent ear tufts. Vocalizations include a low, gruff “wa-waaa-o” and a crescendo/decrescendo “whoa.”
Red-breasted Toucan
Ramphastos dicolorus
Large toucan with a red belly, vent, and rump, a greenish bill, a white and yellow throat and breast. The upperparts are mostly black. Note the prominent bare red skin around the pale eyes and a black ring around the base of the bill. Found mostly in montane forests but also in lowland forests, second growth, and plantations. Call is as series of “grreekk” notes.
