Wetar Ground Dove
Pampusana hoedtii
A fairly large ground-dwelling forest dove. Male is mostly dark with a diagnostic pale head and breast. Upperparts are rufous-brown, head pale gray, belly blackish-brown, and throat, neck, and breast cream-colored. Female entirely brown, with head, neck, and tail considerably more rufous than rest of body. Singles and small groups inhabit forested lowlands on Timor and Wetar islands. Female distinguished from Little and Timor Cuckoo-Doves by shorter tail, dark eyes, and absence of barring. The species gives a two-note hooting call with a short introductory note and an upslurred second one: “wu-wOOYOOP.”

分类信息
In 1871, Hermann Schlegel described the species as Leptoptila hoedtii from Wetar. The species is monotypic. It has been moved from the genus Gallicolumba to Alopecoenas Sharpe, 1899. The name of the genus was changed in 2019 to Pampusana Bonaparte, 1855 as this name has priority. The specific epithet is derived from Dirk Samuel Hoedt, a Dutch collector who owned plantations in the East Indies.

分布与栖息地
The species is found in Wetar and Timor. Fewer than 20 birds were collected on Wetar around 1900, and there were many records in 2008 and 2009. In Timor-Leste, four or five birds were recorded near the border with Indonesia in 2005. There are records from only three localities in West Timor. It is found at elevations up to 950 m (3,120 ft). Its habitats are monsoon forests and gallery forests, and possibly woodland and bamboos.

Enggano Thrush
Geokichla leucolaema
Small, ornate thrush found only on Enggano, off the coast of Sumatra. Inhabits native forest and forest edge, where it tends to forage on the ground in areas with a well-shaded understory. Note dark orange crown and nape, black chest, spotted wings, and white belly. Song is a series of high-pitched whistles, warbles, and chattering notes; like many other Geokichla thrushes, gives a high, thin call note “tseee.” Formerly considered a subspecies of Chestnut-capped Thrush, which is not found on Sumatra.

Dusky-tailed Canastero
Pseudasthenes humicola
Fairly common but easily overlooked in lowlands and foothills of central Chile. Found in matorral, scrub and adjacent semiopen areas with bushes. Presence can be revealed by bulky stick nests placed in bushes. Fairly skulking, keeping mainly to bushes and other cover, but also runs well on the ground, tail held cocked; often in pairs. Plumage relatively distinctive with whitish eyebrow, buffy to cinnamon flanks, and dark tail. Northern desert populations are paler and grayer overall while southern populations in humid areas are darker overall.

Tepui Tinamou
Crypturellus ptaritepui
Unbarred, dark rufous tinamou with a gray face, throat, and belly. With a good view note the pale eyes and orange base to the bill. Found at medium to high elevations in humid forest on the slopes of a few tepuis in southeastern Venezuela, northern Brazil, and southwestern Guyana. Rarely encountered unless voice is known; song is a long and high-pitched whistle, fading at end. Similar to Little Tinamou (which has a very different voice), but Tepui Tinamou is darker and has pale eyes.
