Aberdare Cisticola
Cisticola aberdare
A large and relatively colorful cisticola endemic to Kenya, found locally in montane grassland and moorland. The cap and back of the neck are dull rufous with darker streaking, the back is heavily streaked with black, and there is a rufous panel in the wings. As with other cisticolas, habitat and vocalizations are important to identification. Very similar to Stout Cisticola, but has streaking on the back of the neck. The common vocalizations are a quick series of several squeaky notes, and a series of lower liquid notes.
识别特征
The Aberdare cisticola is 12–15 cm (4.7–5.9 in) in length, and weighs 18–24 g (0.63–0.85 oz). It is a large and stocky cisticola with a heavy bill, plain face, boldly striped upperparts, and a medium-long graduated tail. Its voice is a mixture of peeuu tew tew and other short trills.

The Aberdare cisticola is believed to be monogamous, solitary and territorial. It breeds from January through May and August through November, building a nest out of a flimsy ball of branches and leaves.

Heteromunia pectoralis
Small, grayish-brown bird with a scaly white bib, a dark black facial mask, buffy belly, and a gray bill. Juveniles very plain brown, with faint outline of adult's mask. Inhabits dry grasslands and edges of wetlands across northern Australia, including spinifex, and sometimes wanders far from core range. Gives a distinctive “teet” in flight or sparrow-like chip note.
Cinnamon-browed Melidectes
Melidectes ochromelas
A fairly large honeyeater of mid-montane forest canopy. Mainly dusky gray plumage with a white scaled back, olive wing feathers, pale green eye wattle with short cinnamon stripes above and behind, and an additional red mark below the cheek. Similar to Belford’s and Huon Melidectes, but Cinnamon-browed lacks the facial stripe down from the bill. Call, a loud shriek or cackling phrase “keeet! kwit-kwit-kwit-kwit-kwit-kwit-kwit!”
Great Rufous Woodcreeper
Xiphocolaptes major
Very large woodcreeper with a massive, robust bill. Plumage is rather uniformly cinnamon with some faint streaking on the breast. Note the black lores. Found in dry forest, woodland, and gallery forest. Sings a slightly descending series of double notes: “hick-up, hick-up, hick-up.” Other woodcreepers within its range are much smaller, with streaked or spotted plumage.
