Large Green-Pigeon
Treron capellei
Largest of the green-pigeons, a stout-billed, heavy-chested, and broad-winged bird. Male olive-green overall, washed in gray, with small orange patch on chest. Orange-breasted and Pink-headed Green-Pigeons are smaller, brighter green, and have other colorful patches on the body. Female similarly colored but with paler, smaller orange patch; much larger than other green-pigeons. Gives groaning, undulating coos. Uncommon and localized in primary lowland and foothill forests.

This bird inhabits primary and secondary evergreen rainforests, almost always in the lowland but may inhabit foothills of up to 1,500 metres (4,900 ft) high. Small flocks generate in the high canopies of the rainforest in search of fruiting trees. Although this bird is primarily active during the day, nocturnal movements have been noticed.

Streaked Spiderhunter
Arachnothera magna
A large and noisy inhabitant of tropical and subtropical hill forests. Distinctive in its range; a large spiderhunter with a long, curved black bill and black streaking all over its yellow-green upperparts and lighter yellow underparts. Gleans invertebrates from foliage, but also hovers around and probes into flowers for nectar. Often moves with mixed flocks. Calls frequently, giving a loud, decisive-sounding “chitick, chitick!”.

Bimaculated Lark
Melanocorypha bimaculata
Chunky ground-dwelling songbird with large-headed, short-tailed profile, found in arid open areas such as deserts and steppe. Readily confused with other large larks, but look for the bulky, dark-tipped bill, rounded ear patch, and a black band below the throat with a break in the middle. Calandra Lark is similar but shows a bright white edge to the trailing edge of the wing and blackish underwings in flight. Song is a long series of grating warbles, whistles, and twitters. Calls are buzzy and rather deep.

Monk Parakeet
Myiopsitta monachus
Medium-sized parakeet, bright lime green above with whitish face and chest, pinkish bill, and blue wingtips. Native to South America, where it is found in various open habitats, especially rural agricultural areas and towns. In introduced range, can be found locally in large cities. Builds enormous stick nests, often on large structures like cell phone towers and power poles; "Cliff Parakeet" of arid southcentral Bolivia manages to build, quite impressively, on sheer cliffs. Listen for its harsh, screeching voice.
