Gray Ground-Thrush
Geokichla princei
An enigmatic thrush of lowland primary and secondary forests, often in areas with lots of cover near water. Gray-brown overall with distinctive double white wingbars and double black bars in the ear patch. Similar to the equally unknown Black-eared Ground-Thrush, but note Gray Ground-Thrush’s plain gray-brown appearance and brighter white wingbars. Song is unknown, but reported to give a sharp, sibilant call.

Yellow Flycatcher
Erythrocercus holochlorus
A small and colorful flycatcher with olive-yellow upperparts and yellow underparts. Found in lowland forest, mostly in the canopy. Often joins mixed-species flocks. Somewhat similar to yellow-warblers, but much smaller and found in different habitats. Similar to Livingstone’s Flycatcher, but there is very little overlap in range, and can easily be separated by the olive-green rather than rufous tail. Vocalizes frequently, giving high-pitched, chittering calls and a quick whistled song.

Spinifex Pigeon
Geophaps plumifera
A small attractive pigeon with a distinctive long crest. Primarily rusty-brown plumage with black barring on the wings and back. Adults have a white "chinstrap" with red surrounding the eye. Found in arid, rocky regions of Australia, typically where spinifex grasses are present, and a permanent water source exists nearby.

Violet-headed Hummingbird
Klais guimeti
Tiny compact hummingbird. Note short straight bill and bold white spot behind eye. Male has bright violet crown and throat; female has paler bluish crown and gray throat. Often flies with its tail slightly cocked. Most often seen feeding on small purple flowers in gardens, but also found in forested areas and edges.
