Chestnut-eared Bunting
Emberiza fucata
Burly brown bunting; gets more attractive as you look at it more closely. Brown overall, but intricately patterned in various shades of gray, brown, and black. Combination of a grayish head, extensive dark streaking on the upperparts, and a large brown patch behind the ear (only chestnut in adult males) is unique in the region. Typically inhabits reed beds, grassy fields, and scrubby farmland where it often appears in scattered flocks. Song, usually given from an elevated, exposed perch, is a jumble of twittering, clattering notes. Calls include high, thin “tsik” and lower “chuck.”
识别特征
It is 15 to 16 cm in length. The plumage is mostly brown with dark streaks. The male has a grey crown and nape with dark streaks, chestnut ear-coverts and bands of black and chestnut across the breast. There is a rufous patch on the shoulders and the rump is also rufous. Females are similar to the males but duller with a less distinct head and breast pattern. First-winter birds are plainer but show warm brown ear-coverts and have an obvious ring around the eye.<p>Its voice is similar to the rustic bunting but quieter. The song is a rapid twittering which begins with staccato notes and then accelerates before ending with a distinctive two or three note phrase. The call is an explosive pzick.

The breeding range extends from the Himalayas locally across China to south-eastern Siberia, Korea and northern Japan. Northern birds migrate south to winter in southern Japan, southern China, Taiwan, north-eastern India, Bangladesh and Southeast Asia. The species is a vagrant to Kazakhstan and in October 2004 the first European record occurred at Fair Isle in Scotland. Preferred habitats include scrub, fields and grassland.

Visayan Hornbill
Penelopides panini
A fairly large bird of lowland and foothill forest on Panay and Negros islands. Small for a hornbill. Bill fairly short with black bands. Has black wings, a pale buffy tail with black tip, and bare skin around the eye and chin with a blue tinge. Male has pale underparts and head with a black cheek, while female is entirely black. Male is unmistakable in range. Female is similar to female Writhe-billed Hornbill, but smaller, and lacks the red bill. Voice is a short, medium-pitched honk, reminiscent of a squeaky toy.
Yellow-eyed Junco
Junco phaeonotus
This distinctive sparrow is common in open montane woodland usually dominated by pine. Primarily a Mexican species, barely enters U.S. Much like Gray-headed and Red-backed subspecies of Dark-eyed Junco but with staring yellow eye and rufous back usually extending onto wings. Otherwise pale gray, darkest around the eye. Bill half black, half yellow. White outer tail feathers like Dark-eyed Junco. Forages on the ground, but perches higher when singing. Song has a similar ringing tone to Dark-eyed Junco, but usually with several distinct sections of chips and trills.
Humboldt Penguin
Spheniscus humboldti
Uncommon and local; breeds in colonies along the coast of Peru and Chile, where it nests in underground burrows. The only penguin in most of its range, but some overlap in central Chile with similar Magellanic Penguin of colder southern waters. Adult Humboldt is distinguished by a big pink patch at the base of the bill and a single black breast band. Immature Humboldt is very similar to Magellanic Penguin and is not always safely identified in the field, but immature usually shows big pink bill base recalling adult.
