Rufous-winged Sparrow
Peucaea carpalis
Subtly marked sparrow with a poor name; "rufous wing" is restricted to a tiny, barely visible patch on the shoulder. Gray head and neck with peaked rufous crown and rufous eyeline. Stout pink bill. Sides are buff and unstreaked on adults. Back and wings are also buffy with fine markings. Paler throat is edged with thin dark lines. Primarily a Mexican species with very limited range in the U.S.; found in pairs or small flocks in brushy grasslands. Variable song usually composed of a few clear tinkling notes and trills.
识别特征
The back is brown with darker streaks, while the belly is pale gray. The wings and crown are rust-colored. This sparrow has a conical, yellow-based bill and a long brown tail.

Peucaea carpalis is a year-round resident from south-central Arizona and Guadalupe Canyon, New Mexico, south to northern Sinaloa, Mexico.<p>The rufous-winged sparrow inhabits desert grasslands with scattered mesquite or cholla. It also occurs in washes with sandy bottoms and vegetated slopes, brushy irrigation ditches, and creeks bordered by broad-leaved trees, mesquite, grasses, and forbs.

Choco Warbler
Myiothlypis chlorophrys
Small warbler found in cloud forest in western Colombia and northwestern Ecuador. Field marks include bright yellow underparts a well as dark stripes through face and on sides of crown. Orange central crown stripe may not be evident in the field. Similar to Three-striped Warbler, but yellower, has thinner crown stripes, and lacks crescent below eye. Pairs or small groups forage actively in lower to middle levels in the forest, often with mixed species flocks. Song is a rising and accelerating buzzy trill. Formerly called Golden-bellied Warbler.
Cloven-feathered Dove
Drepanoptila holosericea
Unique and spectacular large dove with a weird shape: fat with a short tail and lumpy head. Male bright green with a yellow belly and very long, even brighter yellow undertail coverts that nearly reach the tip of the tail. Note paler whitish bands on the wings and uppertail. Female mostly a slightly duller green than the male, with a faint echo of the same patterning. Typically found at mid to high levels in tall trees. Note far carrying voice: a prolonged, mournful series of low-pitched hoots, slightly higher-pitched and more drawn out than the song of New Caledonian Imperial-Pigeon.
Spectacled Thrush
Turdus nudigenis
A medium-sized, medium-brown denizen of open woodlands; found feeding both in the trees and on the ground. Best distinguished from similar Cocoa Thrush by its bold orange-yellow eyering and its somewhat pale bill. Song is a series of sweet up-slurred and down-slurred whistles. Most common calls, which are quite different from those of Cocoa Thrush, are an inflected catlike “mew-uh.”
