Marquesan Kingfisher
Todiramphus godeffroyi
An extremely pale kingfisher with a mostly white body and head and a very thin black line going through the eye and around the back of the head. Wings and tail pale blue, and bill dark. Prefers dense humid lowland forest, often along streams. Unique within its range. Gives a short repetitive “kiau,” developing into a laughing chatter.

This unique bird is approximately 22 cm tall with a buff triangle on its upper back. It has completely white plumage on its crown, mantle, forehead, and center upper back along with featuring a blue eye-stripe pattern ending as broken line behind head. It also has a pale blue lower back, rump, tail and wings.

分布与栖息地
The species occurs only on the Marquesas Islands, French Polynesia. It inhabits tropical moist lowland forests, where it prefers thick, humid vegetation along mountain streams and valleys. This bird also has been observed in coconut plantations and on dry slopes covered with mango trees.

Piping Bellbird
Ornorectes cristatus
A fairly large bird of foothill and adjacent lowland forest understory. Brown upperparts, rufous underparts, head feathers coming to a bushy crest at the back, and a thick black bill. Similar to Rusty Pitohui, but Piping Bellbird has a crest and lacks the pale eye. Very shy and heard much more often than seen. Incessantly repeated, monotonous, medium-pitch piping note.

Medium-sized songbird, dark olive above, dusky yellowish below, with a yellow face and rufous crown. Moves about low in dense bushy vegetation or bamboo in pairs or flocks, often with other species. Song, a series of clear, descending, bell-like whistles, easily imitated; chatters nasally when alarmed.
Chestnut-rumped Woodcreeper
Xiphorhynchus pardalotus
Medium-sized rufous-brown bird of lowland forests. Occurs mainly in understory and midstory of tall rainforest, often with mixed-species flocks. Also occurs in premontane forests in the tepui region. Climbs up tree trunks and along large branches, probing into crevices for insects. Similar to Buff-throated Woodcreeper, but slightly smaller and shorter-billed with richer coloration on throat giving overall darker appearance.
