Gray-headed Greenbul

Phyllastrephus poliocephalus

A large and relatively colorful greenbul of the mountains of Cameroon and southeastern Nigeria. Note the gray head, olive-green back and tail, yellow belly, and white throat. Found in humid forest at middle elevations. A conspicuous species that is usually found in noisy flocks. Larger and more colorful than other greenbuls in its restricted range. Gives nasal, barking calls which often accelerate into a quick series.

分类信息

The grey-headed greenbul was originally described in the genus Xenocichla (a synonym for Bleda). Other alternate names for the grey-headed greenbul include the yellow-bellied bulbul and yellow-bellied greenbul, although these names usually refer to the species of the same names (Alophoixus phaeocephalus and Chlorocichla flaviventris).
