Gray-headed Imperial-Pigeon
Ducula radiata
A large pigeon with a gray head and underside, except for a rufous undertail. Note the wide, pale gray bar on the tail. Upperparts are largely green with a purplish-bronze shawl. This color extends onto the mantle in males only. Pairs or small groups inhabit the upper levels of forest and forest edge in the foothills and especially in the mountains. Gray tail band and bronzy nape patch separate this species from the similar Sulawesi form of Green Imperial-Pigeon. Gray-headed’s vocalizations are yet to be confirmed.
识别特征
The grey-headed imperial pigeon is a moderate-sized imperial pigeon with a long tail and a total length of about 38 cm (15 in). The head and underparts are grey and the hind neck is black, while the upper parts are metallic green, glossed on the mantle and scapulars with brownish-crimson. The tail is dark in colour with a narrow and inconspicuous band of pale grey near the base. The iris is orange, the beak is olive-green with a black tip or black all over, and the legs are purplish-red. The rather similar white-bellied imperial pigeon (Ducula forsteni) is larger and more heavily built, and has a broader band of grey on the tail; this is more centrally located and conspicuous.

分布与栖息地
The grey-headed imperial pigeon is endemic to the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. It is mostly a bird of montane forests, generally found at altitudes of between 1,100 and 2,400 m (3,600 and 7,900 ft), but sometimes frequents the foothills at lower elevations. Its typical habitat is primary forests but it is also found in secondary growth forest and woodland edges.

行为
The grey-headed imperial pigeon is most often seen in pairs or alone, but outside the breeding season may form small flocks of up to twenty birds. It has a fast, direct flight and can sometimes be seen flying high above the forest canopy. Like other imperial pigeons, it feeds on fruit which it picks from the branches of trees, scrambling about acrobatically in the canopy; it swallows the fruits whole and thus serves a role in the distribution of their seeds. Nests have been found in December and March, so the breeding season may be long. A single egg is laid in a cliff-ledge nest, in a hole in a tree or in a sheltered niche.

其他鸟类

Yellow-thighed Brushfinch
Atlapetes tibialis
Unique sooty-gray bird with odd yellow tufts of feathers at the base of each leg. Darker black on head and wings. Rather hefty and long-tailed with sizable conical bill. Typically found close to the ground, working through low tangles and bushes in pairs or small groups. Prefers forest and edges. Sexes alike; juveniles lack yellow but overall color diagnostic (and usually in group with adults).

Lemon-breasted Seedeater
Crithagra citrinipectus
A small gray-brown seedeater with a lemon-yellow rump, white tail tips, and a boldly marked face with pale patches (white to lemon-yellow) above and below the eye. The throat and upper breast are lemon-yellow in the male and buff in the female. Pairs and small flocks occupy savanna, grassland, and palm savanna, where the species is partial to Ilala Palm. It forages on the ground and in small shrubs and grass. The similar Yellow-fronted Canary is yellower, has a broader eyebrow, and lacks wingbars and the vertical dark stripe below the eye.

Charlotte's Bulbul
Iole charlottae
Dull brown bulbul with a long bill and pale eyes. Endemic to Borneo, where it inhabits lowland forests and forest edges. Fairly adaptable, often occurring in degraded and regenerating wooded habitats. May be easily confused with other plain bulbuls; note this species’ pale eyes, unmarked yellowish-suffused underparts, and clean white throat. Not as social as some other bulbuls, typically moving through the middle and upper levels of forest individually or in pairs. Gives a somewhat hoarse “jeet!” and a nasal “jee-wit!”, and a repetitive series: “wee-jy-jy-jy!”
