Spotted Scrubwren
Sericornis maculatus
Small scrubwren with white eyebrow and pale iris. Has a dark face with a clear white eyebrow and chin stripe. Primarily olive-brown with a black-and-white shoulder patch and paler front. Chin is white with fine black streaking on breast and upper belly. This species is found in southwestern Australia, across the southern coast, to its eastern-most location along Spencer Gulf just north of Adelaide. Found in a wide range of habitats but typically only present where there is reasonably thick undergrowth. It often makes a grumpy buzzing call but also sings a clear musical song. Formerly considered a subspecies of White-browed Scrubwren.

The spotted scrubwren (Sericornis maculatus) is a bird species native to coastal southern Australia, from Adelaide westwards to Shark Bay in Western Australia. It was formerly considered conspecific with the white-browed scrubwren, and is known to hybridize with that species where their ranges overlap in the Adelaide area. Genetic analysis in a 2018 study of the family found that this taxon was more divergent from the white-browed scrubwren than the Tasmanian or Atherton scrubwrens and hence proposed its reclassification as a species. It was reclassified as a species in 2019.

Victoria Crowned-Pigeon
Goura victoria
An enormous pigeon of lowland swamp forest. Blue-gray body and maroon chest. Differs from other crowned pigeons by its long white-tipped crest and pale gray wing patch tipped with maroon. Claps its wings very loudly when it takes off. Forages on the forest floor for fallen fruit. Courtship display includes rocking whole body forward and fanning tail, then lifting wings. Unmistakable and does not overlap with other crowned-pigeons. Voice a deep, upslurred booming call. Also regular deep hooting notes.
Buff-throated Tody-Tyrant
Hemitriccus rufigularis
Small and rather scarce flycatcher found inside tall, undisturbed cloud forest along the east slope of the Andes. Note olive back and wings, buffy head and breast, and pale gray belly. May show some faint underpart streaking in southern part of its range. Typically encountered alone, actively chasing insects in lower to middle levels of the forest. Gives sharp “weep” calls either in a leisurely series or in a faster burst.
Plain-colored Tanager
Tangara inornata
Well-named, plain gray with black wings and dark mask. Iridescent blue-purple shoulder is usually not visible. Most similar to Palm Tanager but grayer (not olive) without pale patch at base of primaries. Also could be confused with Blue-gray Tanager in poor light, but Plain-colored's dark wings are more contrasting. Sexes alike. Seen in pairs or small flocks in open woody habitats like forest edges or shrubby second growth.
