White-throated Tapaculo
Scelorchilus albicollis
Fairly common but sometimes local; heard far more often than seen. Found in dry scrubby habitats on rocky slopes, often with bamboo. Runs quickly with tail cocked, but often calls from an elevated perch in a bush or atop a large rock. Smaller and slimmer than Moustached Turca (often in same areas), with a longer and brighter rusty tail, a whitish throat and chest bib, and variable dark barring on the belly.
识别特征
The adult of the nominate subspecies of white-throated tapaculo has a cinnamon forehead, a bold white supercilium, and gray-brown upper parts. The rump is lightly barred. The underparts are whitish darkening to pale cinnamon on the belly. Most of the underparts have dark brown bars. The subspecies S. a. atacamae is similarly colored but paler; in particular the upper parts are much more gray than brown. The juveniles are similar to the adults but barred all over. The white-throated tapaculo is approximately 19 cm (7.5 in) long.
分类信息
The white-throated tapaculo has two subspecies. The nominate Scelorchilus albicollis albicollis was described by Kittlitz in 1830. The second, S. a. atacamae, was described by Carl Eduard Hellmayr in 1924.

分布与栖息地
The white-throated tapaculo is found only in Chile. Subspecies S. a. atacamae ranges from the Antofagasta Region south to the northern part of the Coquimbo Region. S. a. albicollis is found from the Coquimbo Region south to the Maule Region. The more northern part of its range is characterized by xeric shrublands and the more southerly part by woodlands and scrub in a Mediterranean climate. The species is usually found from sea level to 1,000 m (3,300 ft) but also up to 1,600 m (5,200 ft). It is thought to be sedentary.

行为
The white-throated tapaculo's diet is almost exclusively arthropods. It forages mostly on the ground in dense cover.
The white-throated tapaculo's nest is a cup made of soft grass built at the end of a tunnel up to 2 m (6.6 ft) long. Eggs are laid in September and October. Both the male and the female incubate the eggs and feed the nestlings.
The white-throated tapaculo sings from the ground or a low perch. The typical song is a series of "barking" notes falling in pitch [1]. The call is a harsh grunt that has been compared to a pig's [2].

Lazuli Kingfisher
Todiramphus lazuli
A stunning blue-and-white kingfisher with entirely blue upperparts in both sexes. Female has white throat and pale blue breast and belly, but male shows more white, with pale blue confined to belly. Juvenile resembles dull male, with buff throat, spot near bill, and speckled breast and collar. Found singly and in pairs in lowland wooded areas, including cultivated areas and mangroves. Pale blue underside is unique among kingfishers in its limited south Moluccan range. Rowdy vocalizations include repetitive “ker-chick” series and “ki-ki-ki-ki…” calls.

Red-and-green Macaw
Ara chloropterus
Enormous parrot with a long pointed tail, a red head and body with mostly blue wings and green wing coverts. It has a white face with distinct red stripes. Only possible confusion species is Scarlet Macaw, which has yellow (not green) wing coverts and lacks red stripes on the face. Found in lowland rainforests from eastern Panama to Paraguay. Usually found in pairs, flying over the forest and perching in the canopy. Can gather in small groups, especially at fruiting trees or clay licks. Nests in cavities. Listen for raucous calls, typical of large macaws.

Yelkouan Shearwater
Puffinus yelkouan
Common locally in Mediterranean, where often seen from shore (as in Istanbul), and ranges regularly into Black Sea. Small, stiff-winged seabird often found in flocks, feeding with gulls and other species around fishing boats. Similar to slightly larger and bulkier Balearic Shearwater (both species occur together locally in western Mediterranean) but more contrastingly patterned, dark brown above and whitish below. Note feet that extend past tail tip.
