The Bismarck hanging parrot can be found on islands in the Bismarck Archipelago. It is present on most coastal and lowland areas of New Britain and New Ireland, as it tends to avoid the central highland areas. It can also be found throughout the Duke of York Islands, New Hanover Island, Manne Island, Selapiu Island, Tsoilaunung Island, Patio Island, and other surrounding smaller islands. It is found in lowland rainforest at altitudes of up to 500 meters, but prefers to live in areas less than 200 meters in elevation.

行为
It is quite shy and is usually hidden from plain sight. It tends to interact with other species of the Loriculus genus. It is usually found in small groups of 2 to 4 individual birds. Females usually lay a clutch of 3 to 4 eggs. Its diet consists of various wild fruits, flowers, buds, and it will sometimes consume small insect larva (for extra protein sustenance). It has an estimated wild population of approximately 15,000 to 30,000 birds.

Ashy-bellied White-eye
Zosterops citrinella
Small songbird with bright yellowish upperparts and white “goggles.” Most subspecies have gray underparts; subspecies “unicus” of Sumbawa and Flores has a yellow belly. Compare with other white-eyes in various parts of their range; note present species combination of dark iris and yellow back. Inhabits a wide range of different wooded habitats across its range, including coastal scrub, mangroves, inland forests, and forest edge. Forages actively in small to medium-sized flocks, sometimes mixing with other species. Can be quite common on small islands. Twittering song is bright but unremarkable. Most frequently given call is a somewhat variable high-pitched, descending “djee.”

Western Gerygone
Gerygone fusca
Small plain bird with thin bill. Upperparts gray, underparts grayish or whitish, with distinctive black-and-white tail pattern (best seen in flight), thin pale eyering, and red eye. Juvenile lacks red eye and has yellow gape (base of bill). Inhabits woodlands in drier, inland regions of Australia, where it is the only gerygone.

Malayan Partridge
Arborophila campbelli
Small and reclusive gamebird of the Malay Peninsula’s forested highlands. If seen well, note white cheeks, dark head, and dappled tortoiseshell back and wings. Like other Arborophila partridges, typically forages quietly on the forest floor in pairs or small groups—rarely out in the open, but can be tame at feeding blinds. Listen for its loud song, a repetitive series of rising ringing notes.
