Emblema modesta
Small brown bird with finely barred front. Brown above, paler and finely barred, below, with with pale spots on the wing and rump, pale-tipped tail, and tiny plum-colored cap (male also has plum-colored chin). A large brown thrush with pale blue-gray eyes, a bright yellow bill, and scaly underparts. The juvenile is flecked with buffy above. The only thrush on Príncipe, where it is a rare resident in lowland and mid-elevation forest between 100 and 800 meters, preferring ravines and valley floors. Song is a varied whistled medley that is mostly given at dawn and dusk, and alarm call is a typical thush-like “dzzrt.”

Pirre Chlorospingus

Fairly small tanager-like sparrow with an extremely tiny range in the foothills of eastern Panama, from around 800–1,200 m. Distinctive in range: olive-brownish overall with brighter yellow-ochre underparts, darker blackish face, and staring pale eye. Like other chlorospingus, typically found in small groups, often with a mixed-species flock. Usually sticks to the understory or middle levels of humid forest.
