Yellow-necked Greenbul
Chlorocichla falkensteini
A medium-sized greenbul of thickets and tangles that prefers edge and semi-disturbed habitats. Most often seen in pairs or small family groups, but it will occasionally join other species in flocks. Gray below except for a bright yellow throat, and uniformly yellow-green above with reddish eyes. Most likely to be confused with the similarly named Yellow-throated Greenbul, which usually has a paler whitish throat in areas where the two species overlap. Yellow-necked Greenbuls can be distinguished by their uniformly gray underparts, brighter olive-green upperparts, dark red eyes, and consistently bright yellow throats. Voice is a variable subdued chatter, “kur-ku-kurkwu.”

Falkenstein's greenbul was originally described in the genus Criniger and later in Andropadus before being re-classified to Chlorocichla. Alternate names for the yellow-bellied greenbul include the yellow-necked greenbul, yellow-necked bulbul, yellow-throated bulbul and yellow-throated greenbul. The latter two names should not be confused with the species of the same names, Pycnonotus xantholaemus and Arizelocichla chlorigula respectively. The alternate name 'yellow-necked greenbul' is also used as an alternate name by the yellow-bellied greenbul.

Magellanic Oystercatcher
Haematopus leucopodus
A boldly patterned large and chunky shorebird of southern South America and Falklands. Favors rocky coastlines and adjacent river mouths, but also frequent on nearby grasslands and lakeshores. Associates readily with other oystercatchers. Told from American Oystercatcher by its glossy black head and upperparts that lack the white shoulder spur. In flight the distinctive upperwing pattern with big white panel on trailing edge separates it from American. At close range, also note the yellow eyering (red on American). Voice is also very distinct from other oystercatchers.
White-winged Lark
Alauda leucoptera
Handsome lark with flashing white wing patches. Note streaky gray-brown back, white underparts, and warm rufous shoulder; male also has distinct red cap and ear coverts. Forages in large flocks outside of the breeding season. Favors wide expansive dry steppelands and fields; occasionally encountered in agricultural areas. Song is a jumble of trills, chirps, harsh rasps, and twittering notes.
Nubian Nightjar
Caprimulgus nubicus
Small and compact nightjar of vegetated semi-desert habitats. Overall rather pale sandy-brown, but note the distinctive rusty hind-collar and buff tips on scapulars and coverts when sitting on the ground. In flight flashes big white patches on wings and tail corners and wings appear relatively short and rounded. Also note the rich rusty underwing. Breeds under bushes, forages in open habitats, and often sits on tracks in the road. Vocalizations sound similar to a distant double-bark, "Kau-kau, kau-kau…"
