Note the yellow undertail and tip, and yellow streaking on the breast. 识别特征
The fairy lorikeet grows to a length of about 18 cm (7 in) and weighs between 24 and 34 g (0.8 and 1.2 oz). 分类信息
The fairy lorikeet was formally described in 1859 by the English zoologist George Robert Gray under the binomial name Charmosyna pulchella. It was moved from the original genus Charmosyna to the resurrected genus Charmosynopsis following the publication of a molecular phylogenetic study in 2020.

分布与栖息地
The fairy lorikeet is resident on the island of New Guinea. C. p. pulchella is present in mountainous regions from the Vogelkop Peninsula eastwards to the Huon Peninsula and the southeastern part of the island, as well as in the Fakfak Mountains in the Bomberai Peninsula. C. p. rothschildi is found in north and central New Guinea in the Cyclops Mountains and other nearby mountain ranges.

行为
The fairy lorikeet is assumed to feed on pollen and nectar foraged from flowers high in the forest canopy and is often associated with Melicope trees. Breeding has been observed in December, January and April. A nesting site is often a hole at the base of an epiphytic plant where a clutch of one or two eggs is incubated for about twenty five days.

Black-billed Woodhoopoe
Phoeniculus somaliensis
An odd, long-tailed, slender-billed bird. Adults have a black bill, red legs, and blue or purple gloss when seen in good light. Found in dry country, often in fairly lush woodland along rivers. Always in groups, normally of 4-10 members. Similar to Green and Violet Woodhoopoes, but there is little overlap in range, and adults are separated by their black rather than orange bills. Immatures can be confusing, but are normally seen with adults. Also similar to Black Scimitarbill, but much larger, with a longer, floppier, and more triangular tail. The distinctive song starts with a rattling series, then builds into a maniacal cackling, given by a whole group in chorus.

Buff-breasted Earthcreeper
Upucerthia validirostris
Fairly common in the Andes, from scrubby valleys in higher foothills up to high elevation puna plains, rocky slopes, and bogs. Usually seen as singles or pairs, feeding on the ground near cover or singing from a prominent rock or post. Distinctive in most of range with a long arched bill and rather plain buffy brown plumage overall. Easily confused with the very similar White-throated Earthcreeper on the west slope of the Andes. The two species often occur together, but Buff-breasted Earthcreepers are plainer and more uniform overall with a less distinct pale eyebrow and a different song.

Western Bearded-Greenbul
Criniger barbatus
A big, chunky, relatively colorful rainforest greenbul. Mostly olive-green, with a reddish tail and a mostly gray head. The throat feathers are long and often puffed out; they are rich yellow in most of the range, but pale yellow in Nigeria. Found in the understory and at middle levels of rainforest and gallery forest. Usually in small, noisy groups that often join mixed flocks. Similar to Yellow-bearded Greenbul, but larger, with a puffier throat and some gray in the plumage. Similar to Red-tailed Greenbul, but larger, and never shows a pure white throat. Somewhat similar to Icterine Greenbul, but larger, and much darker on the breast and belly. The loud and distinctive call is a rising, two-part “truwa-treeeaa.”
