Black-backed Tody-Flycatcher
Poecilotriccus pulchellus
Tiny, boldly-colored flycatcher. Compact and short-tailed; yellow below, black above, with a white throat and mustache, and small red shoulder patch. Found in secondary forest, especially with tall bamboo, in a limited range along the foothills of the Andes in southern Peru. Its chirping musical song is often duetted.

The black-backed tody-flycatcher is compact and short tailed; yellow underbelly, black above, with a white throat and neck, and a small red shoulder patch.This bird usually forages in pairs for insects. They are of the genus of the Poecilotriccus which are small bodied, short tailed, tyrant flycatchers that have long flattened bills. It is a boldly marked species with a black head, yellow underbody, and white throat. For a male the back is black and the female has an olive colored back.

These birds occupy low shrubby areas at the edge of humid evergreen forests and in adjacent overgrown gardens. It is also found in secondary forests with tall bamboo along the foothills of the Andes in Southern Peru.

Unique smallish wader with stumpy bright orange legs and a noticeably upturned bill. Plumage gray overall with white belly, but in flight shows conspicuous white trailing edge to wings. Breeds in valley floodplains in tundra and taiga. In the non-breeding season, occurs singly or in flocks in varied wetland habitats, from fresh marshes to tidal mudflats, and often apart from other shorebirds. Feeds by dashing after insects and also by probing bill in mud, like a mini-godwit.
Yellow-bellied Flycatcher

Small flycatcher, extremely similar to several other species. Generally shy and inconspicuous; breeds in spruce forests often near boggy areas. Migrants tend to be found in denser wet areas within woods. Olive-greenish above with distinctive yellow wash on throat and belly. Black wings with bold white wingbars. Nearly identical to Western Flycatchers, but limited range overlap. Within range, main confusion species is Least Flycatcher. Bright yellow throat and belly is usually enough to identify Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, but some worn birds can be very similar. Song is similar to Least Flycatcher ("chebek") but more slurred, with a soft buzzy tone. Not frequently repeated like Least Flycatcher. Soft whistled call note, "pwee," unlike Least's sharp "whit" call.
Azure-crested Flycatcher
Myiagra azureocapilla
A beautiful small flycatcher. Mostly pale whitish gray below and dark blue above. Crown and cheek vivid sky blue, throat chestnut, and bill bright red. Prefers native mature forest in hills, avoiding regrowth. Similar to Vanikoro Flycatcher, but distinguished by vivid blue head markings and reduced rufous below. Almost identical to Chestnut-throated Flycatcher, but range does not overlap. Song is a repetitive whistled “weet-weet-weet.” Calls include churring and buzzing notes.
