Slender-billed Tyrannulet
Inezia tenuirostris
Very active, a small, greenish-brown flycatcher with yellowish underparts. Shows a short bill with orange base, faint whitish eyebrow, and contrasting white wing bars. Sexes similar. Common, often alone or in pairs foraging; territorial, found in dry areas with scrub and small trees or mangrove border. Song is a fast trill “tr’r’r’R’R’R’R’r’r’r’r.” Similar to Southern Beardless-Tyrannulet, which shows more of a crest, less contrasting wing bars, and heavier and more curved bill. Found in northeastern Colombia and northwestern Venezuela.

White-winged Redstart
Phoenicurus erythrogastrus
A large redstart with an elongated build and upright posture. Adult male is black with a white cap and orange belly. Namesake white wing patch is only present in the males; its true extent only becomes visible in flight. Female is a warm brown with darker wings and an orange tail; her size and posture differentiate her from other plain female redstarts. Breeds in open alpine areas with sparse to no cover; one of a handful of birds found in the high glacial passes of the Himalayas.

Pink Pigeon
Nesoenas mayeri
Very large pigeon with a pink head and underparts, brown wings, and a rufous tail. In flight, the pale head and rump patch are distinctive. Found locally on the island of Mauritius in humid forest, plantations, and secondary habitat. The common vocalization is a series of low, mournful hoots. Could be mistaken for Madagascar Turtle-Dove, but much larger, and easily separated by the pink head and rufous tail without pale corners.

Spotted Piculet
Picumnus pygmaeus
Tiny woodpecker, quite distinct from most other piculets, although hybrids with White-edged and White-barred Piculets are frequent where ranges overlap. Chestnut plumage with white spots diagnostic. Males have a red forehead. Mostly found in dry and open woodland with dense shrubs (caatinga), but expanding east into the Cerrado and Amazonia regions, where it is also found in mangroves and low intensity agricultural habitats. Song is a very fast descending trill.
