Reunion Gray White-eye
Zosterops borbonicus
An unusual white-eye that lacks white around the eye, but has a puffy white rump patch. The coloration is highly variable, with four morphs occupying largely separate distributions. Can be mostly brown, mostly gray, or a mix of the two. Found in virtually all habitats with woody vegetation on the island of Reunion. A conspicuous, sociable bird that is usually found in flocks. Vaguely similar to Reunion White-eye, but easily separated by the lack of a white eye-ring and the lack of olive-green in the plumage. The song is a repetitive series of warbling notes, typical of a white-eye. The calls are rattling and squealing notes.
识别特征
It has a length of 9.5 cm. Its plumage exhibits colour morphs which vary from gray to brown. The tail coverts are conspicuously white, unlike those of the Réunion olive white-eye. The rest of the body plumage is variable in hue, though invariably lighter than that of the previous species. It is typically blue-grey with a brownish wash to the mantle, and distinctly rufous-brown flanks. It has chestnut-coloured eyes with a very indistinct eye-ring, as opposed to that of the Réunion olive white-eye. In both species the breast and flank feathers create a white "epaulette" effect.
分类信息
The taxon mauritianus, by most authorities previously considered a subspecies, is now usually considered a separate monotypic species, the Mauritius grey white-eye, (Zosterops mauritianus). Together, both species were called Mascarene white-eye.<p>There is some uncertainty about the number of subspecies on Réunion, with most authorities only accepting a single, the nominate (Z. b. borbonicus), while some also accept Z. b. alopekion, and Z. b. xerophilus. When only a single Réunion subspecies is accepted, alopekion and xerophilus are considered to represent morphs of the nominate.[citation needed]

White-fronted Tit
Sittiparus semilarvatus
A small, uncommon bird of lowland and foothill forest canopy and edge. Entirely dark with an obvious white mark from the forehead down between the bill and eye. Males are entirely black and females have dark brown underparts. Varies regionally, with Mindanao birds having an additional white mark in the wing. Unmistakable. Voice includes a downslurred series of three fairly high-pitched downslurred notes, “piu-piu piu.” Also gives a rapid staccato trill.

Sulphur-rumped Flycatcher
Myiobius sulphureipygius
Active and attractive small flycatcher of humid tropical forest in the lowlands. Feeds mainly at eye level in forest understory, where sallies and flutters after insects, fanning its broad tail and drooping its wings to show off the big, pale-yellow rump patch. Often joins mixed-species feeding flocks that roam through the understory. No similar species in Mexico.

Australian Pratincole
Glareola isabella
Elegant long-winged shorebird equally at home in flight and on the ground. In flight note very long pointed wings with black tips and a square tail. When perched note red bill; lacks the facial mask of Oriental Pratincole. Typically occurs on dry grasslands (including airports, paddocks, ephemeral wetlands, and in the middle of roads) across inland Australia.
