Ring-necked Duck
Aythya collaris
A relatively small diving duck with a tall peaked crown. Males are handsome with glossy black head and back, clean gray sides, and a brighter white spur on the side. Females are grayish-brown, often with a paler patch at the base of the bill and a white eyering. Both sexes have a white band near the tip of gray bill. Also note gray, not white, wingstripe in flight. Usually favors small bodies of water, such as beaver ponds and cattail marshes, but also occurs on larger lakes, rivers, and bays. Can be found in mixed flocks with other diving ducks, although usually in smaller numbers than scaup. Compare with both species of scaup and Redhead (especially females).

Ring-necked ducks are small to medium-sized diving ducks with the following length, weight, and wingspan measurements:<p>The adult male is similar in color pattern to the Eurasian tufted duck, its relative. Males are a little bit bigger than the female. It has two white rings surrounding its gray bill, a shiny black angular head, black back, white line on the wings, a white breast and yellow eyes. The adult female has a grayish brown angular head and body with a dark brown back, a dark bill with a more subtle light band than the male, grayish-blue feet and brown eyes with white rings surrounding them. Females also make a noise like trrr. The cinnamon neck ring is usually difficult to observe, which is why the bird is sometimes referred to as a "ringbill".

Scarlet-headed Flowerpecker
Dicaeum trochileum
Male’s bright red head, breast, and back makes him unmistakable. Female is brownish above and pale below, with a red rump; can be similar to female Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker, but note Scarlet-headed’s grayer tones overall, especially on the flanks (female Scarlet-backed has pale buff or faded yellowish flanks). A common sight in lowland and lower foothills, where it inhabits gardens, cultivated areas, forest edge, and open or degraded forests. Song is a quiet series of very high tinkling notes; most common call is a short buzzy “bzzt”.
Falcated Duck
Mareca falcata
An East Asian teal-like duck. Males are distinctive, with an iridescent head that flashes green and copper, a silvery body with distinct scalloping, extremely long curved tertials, long pale scapulars, and a triangular white throat patch outlined in dark green. Brownish females resemble female Gadwall but have a dark bill. Breeds in northern interior marshes and winters on rivers, lakes, and coastal wetlands, often in flocks with other ducks.
Purple-tailed Imperial-Pigeon
Ducula rufigaster
A fairly large pigeon of lowland and foothill rainforest interior. Pale pinkish head, orange underparts, metallic emerald green wings and back, and a purple rump. It is usually solitary, difficult to see and does not usually fly above the canopy. Similar to Rufescent Imperial Pigeon, but Purple-tailed is found at lower elevations and has an obvious pale gray tail band. Call, two introductory “tuk-tuk” notes followed by a long, rather out of tune, rising then falling “ooo-woo-ooo”
