Phoenicurus moussieri
Small redstart. Male is unmistakable with an orange throat and underparts, a bold white head stripe from the forehead down to the neck sides, and a big white wing patch. Female is plain brown above and rich rusty below, with a thin white eyering. Breeds on wooded mountain slopes, plantations, gardens, and scrub. Descends to lower elevation habitats such as deserts and plains in the winter. Song is a jumble of pleasant, high-pitched whistles and buzzes. Call is a high-pitched clear whistle combined with a buzzing note, "Pi, pi, pi, zzzzzzzzz…"

Moussier's redstart (Phoenicurus moussieri) is a small passerine bird in the genus Phoenicurus (redstarts), formerly classed as a member of the thrush family (Turdidae), but is now classified as an Old World flycatcher (Muscicapidae). It is an endemic resident breeder in the Atlas Mountains of northwest Africa. Its habitat is open woodland in rocky areas from sea level up to 3000 m altitude in the mountains. It is the smallest redstart, only 12 cm long and 14–15 g weight. The male has a black head with a broad white stripe running above each eye and down the side of the neck. The upperparts are black other than a white wing patch, and the rich chestnut tail, from which it and other redstarts get their names (start is an old word for tail). The underparts are a rich orange-red. The female has a pale brown head and upperparts, and the underparts are a paler orange than the male, although generally redder than the underparts of the similar but larger female common redstart. It is named after Jean Moussier (1795–1850) who was an amateur naturalist and a surgeon in the French Army during the Napoleonic Wars.

The English and specific names commemorate Jean Moussier (1795–1850) who was an amateur naturalist and a surgeon in the French Army during the Napoleonic Wars.<p>Its relationships are obscure; its biogeography is not matched by any other redstart, while its colour pattern is most similar to the much larger Güldenstädt's redstart, which shares the conspicuous white wing patch of the male. It was not included in the study by Ertan (2006), while in the limited sampling by Sangster et al. (2010) it was closest to common redstart.

Rufous-headed Tailorbird
Phyllergates heterolaemus
A small, long-billed, long-tailed bird of montane forest and scrub on Mindanao, with an olive back, wings, and tail, a yellow belly, a rufous head, and a pale buff throat and chest. Often cocks its tail. Juvenile has an olive rather than rufous head. Similar in shape and habits to other tailorbirds on Mindanao, but occurs at higher elevations, and has a yellow belly and rufous head. Song consists of very short, well spaced, varied phrases of fairly long, high-pitched piping notes.
Flame Robin

Large Australian robin. Male slaty gray above, with gray head and chin and small white spot above the bill. Breast and belly a bright orange-red. Black upperwing shows extensive white panels. Female brown above, paler brown below; darker wing with pale panels. In Tasmania, similar female Dusky Robin lacks pale wing panels. Forages in small flocks on the ground in farmland, grasslands, parks, and other open habitats in southeastern Australia and Tasmania.
Red-winged Gray Warbler
Drymocichla incana
A plain pale gray warbler, slightly darker above, with distinctive brick-red wing panels and, if seen well, pale gray-green eyes and pinkish legs. Juvenile is washed brownish on the underparts. Pairs and small groups occur in woodland, especially favoring riverine forest and margins of swamps. Gives a loud cheerful duet “chi-weer, chi-weer, chi-weer” and other strident notes that often draw attention to it. Other co-occurring warblers are warmer brown or streaked.
