White-breasted Fruit-Dove
Ptilinopus rivoli
Male unmistakable, mostly green with a conspicuous white or yellowish chest band, a maroon belly patch, and a red forehead. Female uniform bright green with a yellow line between bill and eye. Bill pale yellow in both sexes. Juvenile greener, with yellow edges to feathers on wings and underparts. Found singly or in pairs in forested lowlands and hills. Yellow bill and facial line in female distinguishes female from female Superb, Black-naped, and other fruit-doves. The species gives a deep “hooO” call note, singly or in a quickly accelerating series that falls off at the end.
识别特征
Ptilinopus rivoli can reach a body length of 23.5 to 26 centimeters. It is smaller than an African collared dove, but more compact than this one. Their tail is shorter and rounded. In this species the sexes are dimorphic. The males have a striking purple head cap. The females are almost entirely green feathered. The plumage is predominantly dark green. There is a large crescent-shaped white band on the chest. Depending on the subspecies, this band can also have a yellowish tinge. The color of the belly and the underside of the tail also vary depending on the subspecies. There is an elongated, narrow spot of purple color on the belly. The tail feathers are bright yellow. In some subspecies, however, the belly is also pure yellow and the tail feathers are green. The beak is bright yellow.

Blue-crowned Racquet-tail
Prioniturus discurus
A medium-sized parrot of forest from the lowlands to lower mountains. The two central tail feathers have extended shafts ending in a racket shape. Overall green in color, darker on the back and paler below, with deeper green on the head and a blue crown. Overlaps with Mindanao Racquet-tail, but has a brighter green back, lacks blue on the cheek, and is found at lower elevations. Voice consists of ringing metallic squawks that are similar to Green Racquet-tail’s, but more grating.

Javan Sunbird
Aethopyga mystacalis
Medium-sized sunbird of foothill forest and forest edge on Java; uncommon to rare in upper montane and lowland habitats. Forages actively in pairs, mixed flocks, or singly. Both sexes are very similar to Crimson Sunbird, but note Javan's bright white belly and sides. Female Javans can also be confused with White-flanked and the Leptocoma sunbirds, but have more white on the sides and belly than those species. Song is a very flat and insect-like series of dry “chit” notes; also gives a sparrow-like “chiweet.”

Soft-plumaged Petrel
Pterodroma mollis
Attractive petrel with a black mask, largely gray above and white below, with a diagnostic dark breast band. Note the heavy dark bill. In flight, exhibits gray underwings and gray and dark brown M-pattern on the back. The rare dark morph has dark underparts, but still retains the distinctive complete breast band, which is the most useful mark separating this species from Fea’s and Zino’s Petrels. Usually encountered well offshore, in towering roller-coaster flights; sometimes follows boats.
