Band-tailed Fruiteater
Pipreola intermedia
Chunky green bird with coral red bill and legs. Males have a black hood, a yellow collar, and a green body with a scaled pattern underneath; females are entirely green with a similar scaly belly pattern, and typically a complete yellow eye-ring. Found singly or in pairs in montane forest. Similar but slightly larger than Green-and-black Fruiteater, which lacks the black terminal tail band and white tail tips of Band-tailed. Male Band-taileds are also typically more heavily patterned underneath than that species, and females have a more prominent eye-ring.
识别特征
The band-tailed fruiteater grows to a length of about 19 cm (7 in). The adult male has a black head glossed with green, and a black bib. The bib is surrounded by a bright yellow margin. The upper parts of the body are mid-green, and there are black, chevron-shaped markings on the flanks. The tail has a green base, a black band and a whitish tip. The underparts are yellowish, mottled or streaked with green. The female resembles the male but lacks the glossy black head, the black bib and the yellow collar, and the black bar on the tail may be fainter. Both male and female have a yellow iris and a red beak and legs. This bird is very similar to the green-and-black fruiteater but that species is smaller, the bib is suffused with green and the yellow area surrounding it is less distinct.

This is a bird of the mountain forests clothing the eastern flanks of the Andes in South America. Its range extends from central Peru to western Bolivia, generally at altitudes from 2,300 to 3,000 metres (7,500 to 9,800 ft). At the southern end of its range it may be found at lower altitudes. It is usually present at higher elevations than the green-and-black fruiteater.

Flores Shortwing
Brachypteryx floris
An elusive, small songster of dense montane forest undergrowth on Flores. Male has dull blue-gray upperparts with paler gray chest and sides. Female has warm brown upperparts with more rufous on the wings, rump, and pale rufous under the tail. Both sexes have white throat and mid-belly, and a thin, white eyebrow. Female similar to Lesser Shortwing, but Flores has a gray chest. Song is a jumble of whistles and scratchy notes. Also gives a loud “tak!” call.
Pacific Reef-Heron

A small heron that hugs rocky coastlines. Light-morph individuals are usually white all over, though some may show patches of gray. Dark-morph individuals are entirely dark gray. Both morphs have a yellowish green bill and legs. Light morph adults are distinguished from egrets in the area by their distinct short-legged appearance and noticeably thicker bill.
Gray Wren
Cantorchilus griseus
Small, short-tailed, plain gray wren. Note the thin white eyebrow. Found in the tangled understory of seasonally flooded Amazonian forests and adjacent clearings. The song is a loud repetition of “chu-choww” notes. Most likely to be confused with similar gray antbirds, which have shorter bills and unbarred tails.
