Opal-crowned Manakin

Lepidothrix iris

Small, plump bird with a short tail. Bright green overall with a yellow belly. Note the pale eyes and bill. Males have a silvery crown lacking in females. The female of the subspecies occuring in southwest Para has a bluish crown. Found in humid primary forest and adjacent old second growth, where males display in loose groups.
