Ixos sumatranus

Sombrely-colored bulbul with a long slender bill, olive back and wings, well-streaked underparts, and a weak crest that is not always visible. Compare with smaller Cream-striped Bulbul, but note present species’ weaker crest, dark eye, longer bill, and longer streaks on breast. Endemic to Sumatra, where it inhabits mountain and hill forest.. Joins mixed-species flocks. Gives various pipping and rising “swit!” calls, as well as loud, sharp “chew’wit!”
