Yellow-throated Hanging-Parrot
Loriculus pusillus
Tiny short-tailed parrot, endemic to Java and Bali. Leaf-green overall, with a bright red rump, pale eyes, and dainty orange bill. Pale orange patch on the chest is not always apparent. No similar species exist in its restricted range. Inhabits forested and wooded areas in lowlands and foothills. Due to its size and coloration, can be difficult to see; listen for its high-pitched “tsee!”, often given while in flight. Unlike larger parrots, does not tend to gather in large flocks, usually moving singly or in pairs. Often visits flowers.
Identification
The yellow-throated hanging parrot is small. Its body is green, with a yellow patch on the front of its neck. Its lower back is red.

Hill Prinia
Prinia superciliaris
A large, fierce-eyed prinia with a long, oft-cocked tail. Breeding adults have a gray head, white throat and brow, brown upperparts, and pale, brown-washed underparts. Nonbreeding adults lack the gray but retain the white brow and throat. May be confused at a distance with Yellow-bellied Prinia, but is much larger, and has a more extensive brow and no bright yellow anywhere on the body. Usually found in open, scrubby habitats, including overgrown fields and forest edges. Loud, strident song consists of one high liquid-sounding note being repeated over and over.
Camiguin Bulbul
Hypsipetes catarmanensis
A fairly large bulbul of forest and forest edge on Camiguin, where it is unmistakable. Dark olive-brown with a pale bill. Forages actively, often in large, vocal flocks. Song consists of a descending series of medium-pitched notes, jumping back to a higher note at the end. Also gives harsh grating calls and nasal screeches.
Okinawa Woodpecker
Dendrocopos noguchii
Dark, reddish-brown woodpecker with a long pale bill. Occurs in mature broadleaf evergreen forests of Yanbaru Forest, northern Okinawa Island, where it is endemic and critically endangered. Calls similar to other woodpeckers, with various combinations of sharp sounds. Drumming gradually accelerates toward the end.
